Let’s face it, without energy, life is challenging.
With lousy energy, decisions can feel hard to make, we don’t feel like going for a walk, cooking dinner from scratch (rather than grabbing take-away) can feel like too much, let alone engaging in activities outside our to-do list. We just don’t have the reserves available.
There’s two key drivers for this: nourishment from nutrients to run our cellular machinery and sufficient rest to allow the body the time to perform cellular repair and maintenance work.
Inside our body, we have 50 trillion cells. Yep 50 T R I L L I O N !
Within each of these cells are our mitochondria, and they are the cellular machinery responsible for turning our nutrients into usable energy.
When cells don’t receive all of the nutrients they need or we don’t consume enough antioxidants, the performance of our mitochondria can be impaired and over time this can show up as low energy levels.
So, if you’re staring at your day or your week and wondering how on earth you’re going to get through, the best place to start is by nourishing your body with a good supply of nutrients and antioxidants and committing to getting 7-8 hours worth of sleep per night, so your cellular machinery can be “down for essential maintenance”.
Give your cells regular boosts of nutrients so they can produce you more energy to do the things that bring you joy.
