The problem with most magnesium supplements

Most magnesium supplements on the market are made in a lab, not grown in the ground.

They use synthetic “bound” forms – like magnesium oxide, citrate, glycinate and orotate – which pair the mineral with another compound, which might also exert its own effects. But some of those compounds can also make magnesium harder to absorb and/or tougher on the gut.

Here’s what often follows:

  • Loose bowels or urgency after taking it
  • Stomach discomfort, bloating or cramps
  • Feeling relaxed one day and wired the next – inconsistent results
  • Needing higher and higher doses to feel any effect

These ‘forms’ are not naturally wrapped up the way nature does it – within food. So while the label might say 400mg (or similar), what your body truly absorbs could be far less – sometimes less than half.

The food-first difference

Before supplements, there was food – and that’s where our Organic Magnesium begins. Instead of being made in a lab, it’s extracted entirely from organic pumpkin seeds, one of nature’s richest sources of magnesium. This means every capsule delivers magnesium as your body would find it in food – complete with naturally occurring plant compounds that help absorption and utilisation.

And the best part?

Our raw material has had the phytic acid removed, meaning this natural “absorption disrupter” that is found in most seeds and grains has been gently taken out. That makes the magnesium highly bioavailable – easy for your body to absorb, gentle on digestion and effective at much lower doses.

Each daily serve (two capsules) provides 180 mg of food-sourced magnesium, a clinically relevant amount to replenish magnesium stores and support calm, sleep and energy – without the side effects of higher-dose synthetics.

Designed to supplement, not replace

Magnesium is found in leafy green vegetables, nuts, seeds and legumes, but modern diets (and soils) often don’t provide enough. Organic Magnesium isn’t designed to replace those foods. It’s designed to fill the gap when your diet, stress or lifestyle leave your body running low. Think of it as a daily top-up that supports what your meals already provide. Not a quick fix, rather a foundation.

Why less magnesium can do more

When your magnesium comes from food, your body doesn’t need to “guess” what to do with it. Which is why you might find 180mg from organic pumpkin seeds better support you than 400mg of a synthetic form. Because when it comes to magnesium, or any nutrient you supplement, it’s not about how much you take – it’s about how much your body can use.

That’s the quiet magic behind food-first nutrition.
